    The Economist Group is a leading source of analysis on international business and world affairs. We deliver information through a range of formats, from newspapers and magazines to conferences and digital media.


    We are looking for globally curious sixth-form students or school leavers with a keen interest in the publishing or media sector for a one weeks’ unpaid work experience during July and August. This programme is not designed for university students or those with previous work experience.

    We will pay reasonable travel expenses within London and subsidise the cost of lunch.


    Opportunities within the role:

    • Attend The Economist editorial meetings, where the biggest stories of the week are pitched
    • Spend time with various teams in The Economist Group, in both editorial and commercial parts of the business which will include Technology, Circulation, Sales and Events among others
    • Carry out your own Economist Group style projects
    • Hear the ideas of senior staff from across the business

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    Experience, skills and attributes we’re looking for:

    • Curious minds who are interested in global current affairs
    • An interest in a career in the media or similar sector
    • A plan to study a business or STEM related course at university
    • The ability to take ownership and show initiative and be a team player
    • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
