We host over 80 events annually in over 30 countries on topics that convene world-class thought leaders on a range of strategic business issues.

     

    There is a new opportunity for an Event Coordinator to join our dynamic office in Dubai. You will report to the Senior Event Manager and have the opportunity to work closely with the event team to ensure that the Economist Events are administered smoothly and effectively, project execution is on schedule and financial management is timely and accurate.

     

    Accountabilities

    How you will contribute:

     

    • Complete activities delegated by events team in a timely manner
    • Assist in the coordination of all the elements of event production: conference, speakers, delegates, venue, app, exhibition, printed materials etc.
    • Support Senior Event Manager and Event Manager as part of the on-site team at all events as assigned
    • Be aware of budget for each event and source quotes as directed
    • Liaise with events, sales, marketing, registration and production teams as necessary, to ensure all elements work smoothly and efficiently together
    • Assist in the preparation of all published materials, including event app, conference guide, exhibitor manual, speaker briefing pack, signage etc.
    • Support with Health and Safety of staff, delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors on site
    • Provide back-up administrative duties as requested or necessary

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    Desirable Skills:

     

    • College or University Degree in Business Administration (or equivalent field)
    • Excellent knowledge of MS office, google suite and very good analytical skills
    • Outstanding work process planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and manage tasks on deadline
    • Ability to travel if needed and to fulfil flexible working hours during busy periods
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience in marketing and organizational activities is preferable
    • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
    • Fluency in English and Arabic is an advantage
