    The Economist has >1m subscribers globally and has a mission to continue to grow over the next five years. The role, sitting within the operations team, is required to provide detailed planning and progress tracking against all the dependencies related to the operational implementation of the CASE platform. The project manager will consider what is needed in place to make a high quality go-no-go decision as elements of the project are implemented. Working in the Operations team, including the business readiness lead, the release project manager will also be an integral part of the technology implementation team.

    Accountabilities

    How will you contribute:

    • Translate the technology programme roadmap into an operations release project plan
    • Build a detailed project plan, including tasks, timings, activity owners and an assessment of critical path. The process of building the plan will include the sequencing of activities and will need alignment with other organisational dependencies.
    • Bring critical dependencies to the teams attention and ensure they are understood and managed.
    • Identify, rate, track and mitigate all risks
    • Work with stakeholders globally to build parallel plans e.g. external customer service organisations will need to be involved in user acceptance testing and training.
    • Work closely with the delivery team to make sure there is a single source of truth for progress and planning at all times, help improving visibility of KPI, tracking, metrics

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    To succeed in the role you must have:

    • Project management; experience in building and maintaining project plans. Identifying dependencies, resources crunches, critical path activities and risks.
    • Technology release/cutover experience; An ability to relate business activities to technology and think consider all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Stakeholder management; understanding and interpreting internal and external stakeholders requirements
    • Good understanding of agile product delivery, incremental delivery , MVP and how to translate into a rolling release planning activity
