    Currently, the Public Policy Consulting team is recruiting for a Consultant to work within an internationally-focused and diverse team. The successful candidate will manage data-driven research, analysis and content programs for our clients.


    In the role you would be expected to: 

    • Prepare and deliver project inputs client projects, including economic analysis, forecasting models, benchmarking models, data collection, interpretation, analysis and presentations
    • Directly manage individual Public Policy research projects, dealing with all aspects of project delivery such as client relations, team management, research oversight and quality assurance
    • Deliver PPEP projects to strict deadlines and within budget, ensuring achievement of agreed revenue and contribution targets for own projects
    • Present interim project status and final project deliverables to clients
    • Manage and build client relationships through excellent project management and delivery
    • Work with the Public Policy sales team and consultant colleagues in the region to prepare scoping documents and proposals for potential clients, meet with clients, help to interpret their requirements and design programs and methodologies
    • Help identify new areas of business for Public Policy Consulting, based on our skills and experience in Policy Advocacy, Policy Thought Leadership, Policy Strategy & Development and Insights & Analytics. 
    • Assist in training sales and consultant colleagues in the demonstration of our capabilities to clients

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    To succeed in the role you must have:

    • Relevant degree in Business, Economics, International Relations or a related subject, Master's degree in related field is desired
    • A minimum of 5 years of prior work in consulting, public policy, economics and political analysis
    • Client management experience as well as business development experience
    • Staff and/or vendor management experience
    • Experience dealing with and presenting to senior-level executives
    • Good understanding of international business, industry and geopolitical issues

    To succeed you will be able to demonstrate:

    • Excellent public policy, economics, statistical, research and writing skills
    • Excellent technical abilities, particularly in econometrics and/or financial modeling
    • Good understanding of international business and management issues
    • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills
    • Excellent English and business language fluency
    • Outstanding project management track record
    • Good communication and presentation skills
    • Comfort with both clients and the sales force
    • Confidence and diplomatic skills to handle unfamiliar topics and difficult clients
    • Business maturity, self-starter qualities with the discernment to balance commercial considerations with high standards of editorial integrity and analytical capability
    • An ability to work on complex projects under tight time frames
    • A thorough awareness of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s brand values, notably editorial independence
