The Communications department is part of the Publisher Team and is responsible for raising awareness for The Economist’s brand, content, and business programs and successes among internal and external audiences.
Currently, we are seeking a Communications Associate to join our world class Communications team. The Communications Associate will report to the SVP, Global Communications and work closely with the global Communications team to help grow awareness of our business activities and success among internal audiences.
The successful candidate will possess a unique mix of writing and people skills and gain first-hand knowledge and experience working as an in-house PR professional for a highly-regarded, global brand in a fast-paced, exciting news environment.
How you will contribute:
Identify and share internal news and activities across global organizations in a timely manner through relevant communications channels and platforms
Collaborate with colleagues on the Communications team on the internal rollout of major Communications programs
Assist with the development and implementation of internal branding campaigns
Maintain and develop intranet site to enhance knowledge and information sharing across the organization
Work with Intranet editors from business units on posting strategy and best practices ensuring consistency and accuracy of message
Manage intranet content ensuring accuracy and currency for The Economist Group
Global coordination and management of internal event management as and when needed
Provide support for the Annual Group Meeting (AGM) and shareholder communications as needed
Provide support for the global Communications team including department infrastructure and administration, i.e. collateral management, budget administration, premia supply, mailings and comp list administration

Must possess excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work within tight deadlines
Possess the ability to keep information confidential
A self starter with a positive and professional demeanor
Relevant experience of working at a PR agency or in-house in a related role
Familiarity with the G-suite of tools is a plus
Ability to be a strong ambassador for the Communications team
A clear understanding of the media business and an interest in the media industry
An ability to operate in a global arena and work nimbly under pressure
