    The Paid Search Executive will join the Global Digital Acquisition team based in London Canary Wharf to help increase the number of subscribers to The Economist Newspaper.  You will assist the Digital Marketing Specialist, Paid Search with the coordination of global Paid Search campaigns.

     

    This is a 6 months maternity cover role.

    Accountabilities

    How you will contribute:

     

    You will work on a daily basis with the Marketing Manager and with two Paid Search agencies (iProspect and Forward3D) to ensure that the channel is:

    • Meeting its monthly subscription targets in each and every region
    • Using the right landing pages, prices, offers and messaging
    • Constantly innovating and proposing new tactics

    The Paid Search Executive will:

    • Assist with agency management:
    • Outline the agency and The Economist’s weekly tasks
    • Ensure activity is implemented on time and to budget
    • Ensure the agency delivers timely campaign reports and A/B tests set ups
    • Coordinate weekly calls, onsite meetings and quarterly business review meetings
    • Analyse weekly performance by region and recommend mitigation plans
    • Set up new pricing and premia/freebies offers
    • Source translations, creatives and premia/freebies
    • Process invoices and advise on budget adjustments
    • Identify direct competitors’ best practices
    • Keep up to date with search engine innovations and betas

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • Programmed and monitored paid search performance led campaigns
    • Strong project management skills
    • Have experience of multi-region campaign planning, analysis and reporting
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Proactivity with the ability to foresee problems arising and be able to action accordingly
    • Ability to manage priorities and to meet deadlines
    • Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills

    Tech competencies

    • Advanced Excel and Power Point knowledge
    • Experience with analytics, tracking, attribution and bid management technologies (GA360, DS3)
    • Strong working knowledge of several different search engines
    • Required certifications: Google Adwords (Fundamentals and Search Advertising), Bing Ads
    • Preferred experience of: Yahoo Search, Yahoo Native
    • Desired experience of: Baidu, Sogou, 360, Yahoo Japan, Yandex

    Education & Languages

    • Educated to BA/BS level, preferably in business, marketing, digital marketing, communications, engineering or mathematics
    • Good command of English (written and spoken)
