We are looking for a Customer Services Assistant to join the The Economist Events and EuroFinance teams, who will be responsible for maintaining client satisfaction through the smooth running of events registration. You will be required to work as part of a team to ensure the successful management of events from processing customer data, co-ordinating communications and managing registration on-site at events.


  • Act as first point of contact for all internal and external queries and delivering a professional and responsive service at all times
  • Process payments and customer data using a range of databases
  • Coordinate and edit customer communications
  • Manage registration at events and assisting other members of the team where necessary
  • Organise pre-event materials and liaising with the operations team on logistical issues
  • Collate and analyse customer feedback
  • Ad-hoc marketing activities

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • Preferably educated to degree level.
  • Experience of working in a customer service role in a corporate environment.
  • Experience of processing information using databases.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience of working in events would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Experience of using Salesforce would be preferable.
  • Experience of using CVENT would be preferable.


You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with polite telephone manner.
  • Ability to organise, manage and prioritise a busy workload
