    Summary purpose of job:

     

    This is a key new role within EIU Healthcare, reporting directly to the Global Director of Business Development & Consulting. This role has the responsibility for managing the development of our key account strategy, developing our relationships and building our networks to drive further engagements with key companies in the Pharmaceutical sector.

     

    The role will carry as a priority a revenue target for the EIU HC Pharma practice, and as a secondary focus manage the engagement across projects and programme for our key accounts.  



    Accountabilities

    In this role you would be expected to: 

     

    • Own an assigned territory target:
    • Responsible for meeting Pharma sales targets assigned by Global Director of BD & Consulting and Pharma Practice Head
    • Develop and execute winning key account strategies. Including account mapping, prospecting and maintaining insights and knowledge on our key accounts.
    • Gain a deep understanding of our key accounts priorities, strategies, structure and values.
    • Proactively seek out and pursue new opportunities with existing and new contacts in our key accounts in the designated territory. Manage the full sales cycle from lead through to proposal and contracting.
    • Develop winning proposals:
    • Be able to scope out new leads and opportunities, working with the clients requirements to answer their needs with winning proposals
    • Have a strong understanding of research consulting methodologies and be able to understand and present EIU Healthcare’s key capabilities and value propositions to senior client stakeholders.
    • Develop and grow relationships with key accounts
    • Provides leadership/ oversight and serves as key Engagement Manager on the largest projects for key accounts. Ensuring we exceed clients expectations and drive value to the engagement.
    • Works with clients to take on feedback and continuously improve on the clients experience and expectations of working with EIU Healthcare.
    • Become a key partner of our key accounts, managing and growing the relationship and ensuring profitable growth for the business.
    • Be an ambassador for The Economist Group, working across business units to leverage group capabilities to deliver on specific client projects or initiatives.

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    To succeed in the role you must have:

    • 5+ years of relevant experience in healthcare business consulting
    • 2+ years in pharma sector, with industry understanding
    • Proven track record in account management and client handling, preferably in the healthcare sector or in business consulting
    • Demonstrated ability in business development and proven success in delivering against a commercial target
    • Bachelor or Master preferably Science major

    You will be able to demonstrate:

    • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with and present to senior client stakeholders
    • Exceptional command of written and spoken English, another European language a plus
    • Excellent people skills with the ability to motivate teams and work well with people at all levels in the organization
    • Highly analytical, organized and meticulous
    • Ability to think inside and outside of the box and be versatile
    • Ability to work in a fast paced team structure and manage a young and dynamic team
    • Willingness to travel regularly to meet with clients and prospects
