We are recruiting for a digital sales planner to support the APAC region’s digital advertising sales teams and sales representatives in planning and implementing digital campaigns.


The digital sales planner is the key touch point between clients and sales staff/reps across the Asia Pacific region. He/she is in charge of creating media plans with the most suitable products that align with a client’s brief and books digital campaigns into the system. The sales planner oversees all aspects of digital campaigns across multiple platforms, prevents issues from arising and provides active solutions once they do.


In the role you would be expected to:


Digital Sales Planning

  • Respond to client briefs by creating proposals and media plans for sales persons and reps across the region
  • Set up digital IOs for clients/agencies to sign off and proceed with booking them into the system
  • Inventory checks and reservation as required & reminding salespersons when reservations are expiring
  • Find solutions or offer other digital advertising options if inventory is unavailable at times of high sell through or other clashing issues

Digital Sales Support

  • Act as the day-to-contact for Economist digital solutions and ad operations in the APAC region
  • Oversee all aspects of digital campaigns from the proposal stage, to delivery & optimization, through to invoicing and reporting
  • Provide the sales teams with all the necessary support required to push the sale through, including dealing with agencies and clients directly
  • Make adjustments to live campaigns in response to client requests
  • Consult with ad operations about potential issues, including under-delivery, over-delivery, clashing campaigns
  • Facilitate creative submissions to ensure they meet deadlines
  • Offer guidance and support on digital ad specifications
  • Represent the APAC region on monthly global sales calls and re-iterate important messages and updates to sales teams and sales representatives

Marketing Support:

  • Keep media kits and sales materials up to date
  • Learn about new advertising products and educate sales teams and reps on how to sell and book these products
  • Generate campaign summaries – collated print/digital/online – as necessary
  • Provide administrative support and other work as requested; eg for events, training and promotional activities

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in the digital media industry, publishing or similar business
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a highly organized work style
  • Flexibility and the ability to multi-task
  • Natural problem solving inclination and the desire to continuously keep abreast of digital developments
  • PC skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

It would be an advantage to have:

  • Working knowledge of DoubleClick for Publishers
  • Experience with sales planning and ad serving applications
