The Business Development Executive would own a portfolio of client accounts made up of existing and prospect clients and agencies. The main responsibility is to grow incremental revenues across the portfolio, develop relationships with client stakeholders to understand their marketing needs and then work within Economist Global Media Businesses to provide creative solutions including our product portfolio.

Accountabilities

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Generate sales revenues from both existing and new  client accounts by developing creative solutions across our portfolio
  • Write creative and effective sales presentations and proposals 
  • Work seamlessly across a global sales team 
  • Liaise with other business units to maximize opportunities for The Economist Group
  • Maintain accurate sales database and monitoring pipelines and meeting reports
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of your advertisers, the industries they operate in, their competitors, our competition and any content marketing trends
  • Develope and maintain long term relationships with stakeholders within key client accounts.
  • Build and maintain client/agency contact database

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • BA to B.Sc degree (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience, formal sales training preferred
  • Ad sales or equivalent client servicing experience with strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of EMEA market and key advertisers is a plus 
  • A proven track record of revenue growth 
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills 
  • Agency/client media planning process, Marketing & communications landscape Pan media knowledge a plus
  • Ability to monitor campaign performance
  • Fluency in English (both spoken and written), any other European language an advantage
