Currently, our Global Ad Operations team is seeking an Advertising Operations Specialist to fulfill all aspects of day-to-day technical ad support ad across all Economist Group Online businesses.  This includes troubleshooting ads (Creatives), deep dives into 3rd party discrepancies, implementing new advertising solutions and products, as well as working closing with Global Ad Ops Manager on vendor vetting and on boarding. This role is also required to support the Global Advertising Operations team on projects and day-to-day operations tasks.


The role is a full-time, interim maternity cover role, to run for up to 12 months


In this role you will be expected to:


Technical Support

  • Identify potential errors, and troubleshoot as necessary
  • Provide technical support, within scope, to all online businesses
  • Provide technical support to the business development team
  • Provide technical support to the Global Advertising Operations Manager as well as ad-hoc technical support to the Network Operations Manager
  • Provide technical support on implementation and testing of custom ad units

Creative QA and 3rd Party Discrepancy

  • Test new 3rd party vendors
  • Troubleshoot ads (Creatives) and ad tech when they don't work as expected
  • Take deep dives into discrepancies - viewability, 3rd party delivery
  • Provide day-to-day QA support
  • Help manage the production process for custom ad units deploying on approved partners
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies with Network Partners

Projects/Site Development

  • Update and stay up-to-date with latest ad specs
  • Ensure new products are setup and working correctly to support advertising
  • Work with development teams to troubleshoot and implement new advertising solutions
  • Provide technical site analysis

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in the role you must have: 

  • Publisher side Ad Operations experience
  • Experience trafficking using Doubleclick DART (DFP experience a must)
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience working with cross regional sales teams
  • Network and programmatic experience (highly desired)
  • Experience working with development teams
  • Expert level understanding of trafficking, ad tags, tracking pixels etc.
  • Knowledge of Data Management Platforms, and the use of data
  • Comprehensive understanding of online advertising and rich media formats
  • Understanding of viewability standards and setups
  • Understanding of the Native ad landscape
  • Expert knowledge of DFP
  • Experience working with DSM is highly desired
  • Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint (Pivots and Formulas)
  • Intermediate HTML/CSS and JavaScript highly desired
  • Using MOAT platform
  • Developer/Debugging tools
