This role supports the Head of Marketing Services in monitoring and maintaining the operations of the marketing platforms, specifically Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), to ensure smooth running of all the numerous customer communications that are sent out every day.

 

The Marketing Services Executive will be the first line of support with the wider marketing team, helping to service all marketing activity and ensuring the successful delivery of campaigns.

Accountabilities

In the role you would be expected to: 

  • Daily health check of all activity including triggered emails, customer life-cycle communications, push notifications and data flows
  • Manage day to day support requests from the wider marketing team including updating email and html templates, providing ad hoc reports, advising on best practice and helping with data queries
  • Assist with solving technical issues and raise service support tickets to SFMC
  • Regular housekeeping of marketing platforms including archiving and introducing file naming conventions
  • Administer the automated and ad-hoc reporting requirements from SFMC
  • Regularly monitor deliverability metrics such as bounce rates, sender reputation, and spam score to ensure optimum email performance
  • Assist marketing teams with data segmentation and planning for future campaigns, keeping a calendar of all upcoming activity and data usage.
  • Compile a monthly update of all activity and results, and ensure effective ongoing communication with all key stakeholders
  • Support marketing teams with testing of campaigns prior to launch and assist with the use of testing tools such as Litmus
  • Assist with the onboarding of new staff onto SFMC by maintaining internal training documents and best practice guides
  • Monitor all reporting against set operational KPIs and analyse trends to provide operational updates to the wider team
  • Keep all marketing assets and communications up to date and aligned to brand guidelines
  • Daily monitoring the Piano software tool operations and reporting on KPIs
  • Assist the Marketing Services Manager in testing new technologies within SFMC
  • Compile the monthly ABC audit newsletter report

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • Experience of using Marketing Automation platforms for sending and reporting on marketing communications (ideally Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Digital marketing experience, specifically including e-mail-based communication programmes designed to drive customer engagement and revenue
  • Excellent Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and present reports clearly
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and present conclusions to a number of different audiences
  • Understanding of operational best practices in email marketing including optimising for deliverability
  • Experience in CRM or customer segmentation, with the ability to understand customer data flows
  • Working knowledge of HTML, with the aim of updating and editing existing HTML templates
  • Ablility to identify and trouble shoot technical issues
  • Knowledge of campaign testing, tracking and optimization

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, across different locations and time zones
  • Ability to prioritise and plan, in line with deadlines
  • Excellent proofing skills and attention to detail
  • Subscription marketing experience
  • Knowledge of Ampscript (desirable)
  • Experience in Push Notifications marketing (desirable)
